CUP EDITION
Gallery - MILLENNIUM EDITION
The Millennium Cup Edition version received many special parts from the design team, which make the car appear in the RSI LOOK, but differ greatly from the Cup Beetle and all other New Beetle models in detail. A few of these features are listed and described here!
The upper row shows three models in three colors, which are still in very good original condition - that means:
In the original paintwork, equipment, with decor, no accident and with service papers!
Millennium Cup Edition Cars as they should be!
Cars that are not in good condition or that have been rebuilt or "embellished" due to a lack of parts can be seen here ==> MORE !
One of the few cars in Spain that is still very well preserved in its original colour, with decoration and in great condition
A really nice cup edition in original condition in Spain. The only change is the rear fog light, presumably to get approval in Spain?
CUP EDITION in original paint, decor and in perfect condition in DXB ... something very rare and definitely one of the last of its kind!
Many of the RSI body kit parts were used for the conversion, such as spoilers, front and rear aprons, side skirts, but sometimes had to be heavily modified because they were supposed to fit on the NB base plate!
A very successful decor draws both doors and refers to the millennium year & Cup Edition.

The RSI body parts are an extremely successful design. I was able to talk to the designer & he says it was one of his nicest projects ever! An eye-catcher ! In addition, the large grille perfectly supports the air flow to the various coolers (water, charge air, air conditioning, etc...). The air conditioning was of course a very important part for the UAE and temperatures up to 50 degrees in summer.
Same like i the front, the car is also perfect in the back.
Shape, grille, exhaust system, etc.. of course reminds of the RSI. The only difference here is the single exhaust pipe. Where the second exhaust pipe sits on the RSI, the reversing light is now installed.

The rear spoiler, also an RSI replacement part, got the necessary reinforcements in the cover and a defuser at the top of the rear window. Not just for the sake of looks, but to direct the airflow to the spoiler as well as possible. The look itself ==> just perfect!
After a long search, the origin of the seats turned out to be as follows:
The frame comes from "FAURECIA" which is based near Stuttgart.
The assembly and the completion took place at the company "KÖNIG" in Illsfeld / Germany.

The seats and the decor also clearly refer to the millennium year and the reference to the CUP Edition car.
The look of the RSI knob would definitely have looked better on the Millennium Beetle, but it was probably purchased from VOTEX for cost reasons. The RSI knob would probably have been too expensive at 206,- euros? The part is listed but unfortunately hard to get!

In order to make the hole in the vase holder appear a little sportier and to hide it, a lid made specifically in the RSI design was produced!
The plastic caps at the ends of the grab handle are silver on all cars - no matter what color the car is!
The TACHO was not only built in for the sporty look, but also to take the performance of the 1.8T into account. With the mono-pipe exhaust system, the car should also deliver significantly more power. The TACHO is also installed in the New Beetle V5 Sport Edition, for example.
The rims and wheels are a real feast for the eyes. Racing rims with VW RACING LOGO in size 9X18" - ET10 and the right tires - 235/40ZR-18 - give the Millennium Cup Beetle an impressive appearance. Whether these tires were necessary for the performance is not a question - they simply fit & belongs to the car!
Even the spare wheel is in original dimensions & not a run-flat wheel. In order to accommodate it in the trunk, the floor had to be raised - funny the stickers up to max. 50mph/80Kmh for an original sparewheel :)
As with the original, the emergency tools are housed here in the OZ wheel
The 1.8T 4-cylinder engine was probably cheap and also a sporty solution for the owners. There is a discrepancy here with the engine type, which shows an APH engine in the papers from UAE, but then installed an AVC engine in the car! VW also confirms the AVC version when querying the VIN in Wolfsburg!
According to the VIN code query, the 1.8T 4-cylinder engine has always been equipped with an AVC engine type :( ... then why the wrong PR code stickers??
Where do you think the PR CODE sticker came from on the engine version of the "APH" type? Something was obviously quickly arranged "under the hand" here :(

Really points to sloppy project management or - "GEMAUSCHEL" ... right?

A first quick way to identify a "genuine Millennium Cup Edition Beetle" as a possible original is the VIN TAG sticker on the B-pillar.
The sticker is entirely in Arabic, a clear indication of the car's target market.

For the domestic german TÜV, a "VIN TAG sticker" had to be created in English for the passenger door rail " :)
The rear spoiler reinforcement is essential for this car. The flap would quickly be bent and the bracket would show cracks!
The rear spoiler produces quite a bit of downforce even on normal roads. The reinforcement / bracket is a MUST on this car / spoiler! The RSI should probably also have this gain ??
The pedals were also taken over from the RSI Beetle and give you the feeling of sitting in a racing car. These pedals are even still offered at "Volkswagen Classic Parts".
The exhaust has various reasons.
a) The sound matches the look
b) Provides the car with some 185 hp
c) Fits the fairing, which initially was produced for the RSI ( body kit ).

" Assumed 80% of all cars fell victim to youthful tuning madness, the heat or the lack of original parts "
